| | amused | ] | I left the back door unlocked last night, which in retrospect was a pretty good idea considering it made the perfect backdrop for a little realisation. After being informed by Aliya that leaving the back door unlocked was stupid and then being told that I would be the first one stabbed if we were ever robbed my mind went something like this.
We both wake up late one night after having heard someone moving about only to find a man standing in our bedroom holding a knife. Instead of being scared Aliya calmly takes her own knife from under her pillow and shoves it into my liver. As Relaxed as can be she turns to the would be criminal and says... "If I did that to him imagine what I am going to do to you." |

| ISP filtering |
[Aug. 21st, 2007|09:19 am] |
Households will soon also have another option.
Since the Federal Government announced its plan for a downloadable filter, it has also announced it will force all internet service providers (ISPs) to offer a direct filtering service too.
This will take control of what can be viewed out of the hands of parents, because the ISPs will just provide a standard blacklist of offensive sites.
It is a change of attitude for the Government to embrace a proposal that had previously been labelled expensive and ineffective.
But Senator Coonan denies that it is a waste of money.
"Less technologically competent parents have asked if they could also have access to an ISP filter - that is why we are developing a choice," she said.
Mr Clapperton says ISP filters may slow down internet speeds and make access more expensive.
"ISPs are going to be incurring a lot of technical and financial overheads to provide this service, probably for a fairly small amount of people who would require it," he said.
"So this is inevitably going to cause additional costs for the ISP and those will be passed onto consumers in the form of higher-priced internet access."
The household PC filter is available at the Netalert website, and the Government is confident there will be a high take-up rate.
But there are no figures available yet on how many people have downloaded the software since it became available this morning.
I exert taken from a larger article I found on google news.
http://abc.net.au/news/stories/2007/08/20/2010161.htm?section=australia
So once more people without children and parents who actually parent are going to be forced to pay more for the incompetent morons who spawn children just because they can. I wonder when I can expect to get my subsidy for the internet since this bullshit legislation is going to cost me money. |

[Mar. 20th, 2007|12:40 pm] |
A $100 million government plan to tackle childhood obesity may have been dumped because of a "blame the parents" mentality, a leading children's health expert says.
Who would have imagined that, the primary carers for a child might actually have to take some responsibility for that child... OMGWTFBBQ!!!
Fuck I hate stupid parents.
In other news I apparently forced someone to participate in a threesome with myself and another guy... I really wish I had have been there for that! A threesome!! |

| The sign of a growing democracy? |
[Nov. 7th, 2006|12:28 am] |
Apparently it is state sanctioned murder...
Bush, weakened by the unpopular war in Iraq that may cost Republicans control of the Congress, seized on the death sentence imposed on Saddam Hussein as a hopeful sign of flourishing democracy in the violence-wracked country.
“History will record today’s judgment as an important achievement on the path to a free and just and unified society,” he said, vowing to “support Iraq’s unity government as it works to bring peace to its great country.”
And this guy had a second term in office, what the hell were people thinking?
On a related note the ex CEO of QR was executed earlier today which shows some promising signs for QRs continued market growth and vision for the future.

[Oct. 27th, 2006|08:06 am] |
So it was a pretty normal day until about 10 when I decided to have some fun with a tattoo gun. This is the result of an idea and several hours of pain. Enjoy.

PS. shading still needs to be done to cover up the old tattoo, obviously. |

| Back again |
[Oct. 5th, 2006|08:46 am] |
So here I am, posting in my live journal to give what few people are on my friends list a bit of an update on my life…
Where to start?
Well about 4 months ago I asked my girlfriend of the time to marry me, so now she is my fiancée and we are very happy, which is to say I am happy and she is usually annoyed by me. In all honesty I can be frightfully annoying at times, those times being most of the time. We have tentative plans for the wedding in about 3 years as we have decided to save up a bucket load of money to go on a killer honeymoon. Seems like a more worthwhile adventure then spending most of it on an elaborate wedding although I think we will have that as well.
The job is going well, so well in fact that I have decided to step up my mode of transport to something a little sportier. Enter now the home loan. Okay so this is how the situation is developing, I am buying a house off my parents for $220000 interest free, however I wanted a car and Aliya wanted a nice engagement ring so we decided to get a loan. The idea was that we would borrow $100000 against the house; this was so my parents could pay off the encumbrance on the house, buy a new car and then we would get the rest of the cash, about $50000. It sounds simple but alas nothing ever is, it is unbelievably hard to get a loan for anything but the full cost of a house you are buying. Why? I have no idea in all honesty, for some reason banks and financial institutions are loath to do anything that does not follow their road map from A to B I suppose. Long and short of it was that it took a long time to get the cash but we have finally been approved.
Which brings us to the car, the focus of this little adventure, the ring being an addition that did not always need to be on the loan but can be more expensive because of it. I am still waiting for settlement of the house before I start the test drives of the cars that I want but I have comprised a list of suitable candidates.
The Mazda3 MPS: It looks like most other Mazda3s but it has the same 190kw turbo engine as the Mazda6 MPS in a lighter car. Great write ups in car mags and probably the one I will most likely get.
The VW Golf GTI: Not much to say here, it is a Golf GTI which makes it good, however it is also a Golf GTI which makes it expensive to maintain, I also need to get a quote on insurance. However it is defiantly something to try on the day, if nothing else I just want to drive a Golf.
The HSV VXR: I have no idea where this car came from but essentially it is a sportier version of the Astra. Packing a hefty 176kw of power it is only slightly slower then the MPS but carries the bonus of being a Holden and thus allowing me to get $3000 off the neg price. A nice little incentive to take it for a drive.
The Honda Integra Type S: This car has always been in the back of my mind, even while I was tossing up the idea of getting an RX8. Well the RX8 is probably a little to expensive for my blood but the Integra deserves a trial in my little battle of the… cars. Less power then the above group it lacks the turbo but still I am curious.
The Subaru Forester XT: The last of the cars, the “family” car for the family I will never have. The reason I am going to take this one for a drive is that my friend Simon already got one and I really want to know what it is like. It is probably the least likely of my choices but I want to see how it goes.
So there you have it, a fiancé, a house and soon a fast car, not bad for a few years work… |

| The people you see |
[Feb. 3rd, 2006|11:21 am] |
Okay so after a week holiday at my sisters house in Newcastle I was heading home this morning feeling somewhat relieved. I admit that getting away from things is good I was also feeling home sick and I really wanted to see my baby again. So I checked in to the terminal about 20 minutes before I was scheduled to depart which meant that the plane was going to be boarding in about 10 minutes. Okay, not a problem, I get my bag in and head up to the gate. I looked around for a second found a place to sit and decided that I did not like it so I got up again and headed over to a different seat with what appeared to be a foot rest. I sat down, put on my ipod and started to listen to some Offspring. As I do, I was looking around at the people waiting and I saw this guy just across from me. I looked at him for a moment, his face was familiar and after a second or two I had to do a double take. Now I was thinking to myself, no, I am just imagining things; surely there must be more people in the world with a thick neck, cleft chin and many tattoos. So I started to stare, I could hardly help myself, trying to see if there was any other signs it was who I thought it was. So here I am, sitting down at an airport looking at some guy who I do not know trying to figure out if it was who I thought it was. Sure enough he just happened to move his arm just a little so I saw the bottom of a Black Flag tattoo.
Yep, I was sitting across the room from Henry Rollins thinking to myself… WTF! Okay so my flight is just about to start boarding, I am looking at Henry Rollins and asking myself, should I go up and say something. Well time was ticking away while I am sitting there like a stunned mullet going over possible conversations in my mind and suddenly the plane is boarding. Last chance, you could just walk across the room and say hello to a guy you have seen on stage but does not know you from a bar of soap. So I made the decision to get on the plane without saying a word, I mean he does not know me and he probably does not care. However it does sum up on very important point, why is he in Australia?

This, for lack of a better term, is complete and utter bullshit. At what point did maybe, perhaps, importing pot into a country become a greater crime then mass murder? How do I make this assumption you ask, well the fact of the matter is that Schapelle Corby was given a harsher sentence then the Bali bomber. And this is what passes for justice in the world? Don’t make me laugh. This is a slap in the face for all the families who lost loved ones in the horrific slaughter because the Indonesian government and legal system is saying that 4kg of pot is worth more then the lives of people. More then this we have our own government telling us to respect the decision of the court that passed this unjust decision?!? Get fucked you bunch of spineless whiny little assholes. Through the whole case you never did more then offer token support for this girl and now that public opinion demands you do something you offer more token support? Not a fucking chance, this is the biggest farce of government I have ever been unprivileged enough to have witnessed. From a legal standpoint doesn’t a government have a duty of care to the citizens of a country? At what point have they breached this duty with their inactivity? Surely they could have demanded that their own forensic investigators examine the evidence in the case, I mean if everything was above board then what would be the big deal? But no, nothing like this ever happened, at least not as far as I am aware. But wait, the Indonesian government said no! Who gives a flying fuck, we are in a position of power at the moment, they need us more then we need them so you turn around and tell them to go fuck what they want. We are not starting a war here people; we would simply be making sure that one of our citizens got a fair am impartial trial. Again no, this did not happen, our government did nothing, the federal police did nothing, no one did a god damn thing to help out this girl so I have to wonder who is next? Make no mistake about this we are just numbers to the government that we elected and who works for us. Read that again, the government who we elected and who works for us. This is complete bullshit and what is worse is that this fact will be conveniently forgotten come the next election. I love this country, really. |

| Rollins |
[May. 26th, 2005|08:50 am] |
|
Okay, to quickly sum up, Henry Rollins rocks, now on to the rant. It seems to me that if you pay $40+ dollars to go hear a guy talk then you sit the fuck down and listen. This would be a reasonable assumption I would have thought, but no, people felt the need to walk out every 5-10 minutes to buy another fucking beer. Now I realise that people like to drink, not a problem, drink yourself into a stuper but do not do it in public and do not do it at a Henry Rollins spoken word. I mean seriously what the fuck were you people thinking? The guy is up on stage wailing on everyone from the US president, our prime minister and specifically people who are stupid drunks. Okay now it might come as a big surprise to most of you fuck chops but he was talking about you! That is right, when he was excreting contempt for stupid drunks and people who take drugs he was excreting in your fucking direction. On top of that I do not appreciate idiots who just need “another beer” annoying me constantly throughout the performance that I paid good money to go see. News flash you are going to Henry Rollins spoken word, the guy hates drunks, so why are you mocking the opinions of someone you have come to listen to? Put the beer away, sit the fuck down and watch the show, if you can not do that then kindly stand aside and let others enjoy it without your bullshit. |

Dear organisers of the National day of Action.
It has come to my attention that you are going to be protesting for the return of the Australian troops from Iraq. I am just wondering if you see this course of action as being the in the best interests of the people who live in that country?
Let me start by saying that I have not and never will support the war that was fought. I believe that the Australian public was deceived by our government and the government of the US. While I do admit to not knowing the real reason for this war I do have my suspicions but that is neither here nor there. You should note however that I talk about the war in past tense and there is a good reason for this. For the most part the war has been fought, the country of Iraq is mostly in ruins and there government is in shambles. They are a country that has been ruined both internally and externally and is only now starting to rebuild. There is also one more important fact to note which I imagine has not passed your attention, Iraq is massively rich in resources. This is both a blessing and a curse. The reason I point out this fact is because many countries would kill for those resources and one might argue that they already have. With that in mind what do you suppose would happen if we were suddenly to remove all of the troops from Iraq, both Australian and US? It is not far fetched to see neighbouring countries move in with their own troops to take over what has been left behind. In its current state Iraq is in no position to defend itself and the ensuing bloodbath would make the previous war look like a pleasant ride in the country side.
As I pointed out, I never supported the war however I do support the inclusion of Australian forces in the rebuilding effort. We have a moral obligation to fix what we have destroyed, of this I am certain, and by removing our people from the region then we abandon that responsibility. I am not saying that you should not protest, our government has a lot to answer for and it seems that very few people are asking for these answers. What I am saying is that removal of our troops would be both ill timed and morally wrong. With that said I believe it would make more sense to protest the current use of our troops in the area. We should not be there as combat soldiers but as peace keepers and defenders, as rebuilders and guardians. To ask our government to reconsider how our troops are used would be a lot harder to ignore then asking for a wide scale withdrawal. If such a request was denied by our government then you could demand to know why and such a move would be hard to justify.
In the end you can only influence the here and now. The war has happened and protesting it after the fact seems meaningless. |

| Something New |
[Feb. 14th, 2005|01:48 pm] |
Okay so I have not had a whole hell of a lot to add to this journal lately, I guess I have not felt the need of a good rant in a while. Still, things do bother me, they just do not bother me as much as they did and it helps to have someone to talk to. I have been spending most of my time with Chemical X which suits me but it does not make for angry rant Project. I am pretty sure I should feel bad about this but I do not. What I should also feel bad about is the fact I have suduced Chemical into the addictive place that is World of Warcraft, but again I do not feel bad. There is something to be said about playing a game together, I should have tried this a long time ago but alas no one was interested. Well enough about my life, it is boring as far as things go, I do not have a selfindulgent story to tell so you can all feel pity for me and shite so I will leave you with a picture. Told you I had something new.

| Things I hate version 1.0 |
[Jan. 27th, 2005|08:33 pm] |
1/ Blaming or using as an excuse the trauma in your life to justify the way you act. Seriously what the hell is wrong with people that they all look for some kind of excuse when they do something reprehensible? Firstly if you make excuses for an action then you know it is wrong thus voiding the excuse. Secondly you have a fucking mind and free will so exercise it. So your mother died in a combine harvester accident and your father had her stuffed and put her at the dinner table. Yes you had a very bad childhood but guess what? The childhood is over it is time to stop acting like one. If you have emotional issues, deal with them, get some help, and do not use them as some kind of excuse to act like a fucking idiot. Yeah you were beaten as a child so you beat your children, fuck that, your crime is worse because you know how bad it was. Fuck you and fuck your excuses, pathetic waste of air.
2/ The inevitable unfiltered post of a friends only journal. This give me the shits, if you have something to say then fucking say it, do not hide behind a pathetic ruse and a computer screen. Do you honestly think you are fooling anyone, making your whole journal friends only except for the occasional “public” post aimed at whatever enemy you currently have. Grow a spine and grow the fuck up, seriously.
3/ Hypocrisy. One of the worst of the lot. Both personal and political this one thing pisses me off more then anything else. But to be more specific I need to question something that is happening in the US. Guns are legal, people are allowed to own them because it is a persons right to bare arms. A common argument for this is that guns do not kill people, people kill people. Year right, what the fuck ever. Okay so let’s look at something a little bit different. The Xbox gaming console and mod chips for it. These mod chips are banned from being sold in the US because part of there functionality is to bypass copy protection. Another function of these chips is to enable your Xbox to play imported games. So I pose this to you, how can you have a country that allows a gun on the flimsy excuse that people kill people not gun while in the same breath banning a mod chip. After all, mod chips do not copy games, people copy games… Yeah can’t wait to here an explanation for this one.
4/ Censorship and useless parents. What right does some family interest group have to tell me what I can and can’t watch? If I want to watch a man saw off his own foot in the privacy of my own home then that is my business. As long as no one was unwillingly hurt doing it then I have a right to choose what content I wish to view. This obviously voids child porn and such because those people are unwilling participants. If you do not want your child exposed to “questionable” content then feel free to turn off the fucking television. More then this feel free not to buy the video game that depicts violence, feel free not to give them the money to by it themselves. Do not, however, force your own moral stand point on me and on the game I choose to play or the movie I choose to watch. If you are worried about “the children” then be a parent. For me, I am all grown up, I do not need your mothering. Assholes. |

Okay so here is the deal, my friend Skott has a passion for the grotesque and macabre, although I doubt he would use these words, so I decided to get him something nice for Christmas. Thank you Aliya for sending me the link for this monstrosity.
